AIFP has expertise in dimensional lumber, panel and steel products suiting our partners needs. With 7 specialized departments, we trade a variety of grades, species, sizes and lengths. Our seven departments include, Canadian Lumber, Cedar, European Lumber, Industrial and Industrial Low-Grade, Panels, Southern Yellow Pine, Steel and U.S. Lumber. No matter the size, scale or budget, knowledgeable traders offer creative solutions driving business. AIFP is looking for driven, sales-minded professionals ready to turn their early career experience into something bigger. Through our paid, 12-month Trader Development Program, you’ll gain the market knowledge, mentorship, and hands-on experience needed to build your own book of business and transition into a full-commission Trader role.

As a Trader, you’ll develop customer and supplier relationships, identify opportunities, negotiate deals, and manage business from start to finish. It’s an entrepreneurial sales career backed by the resources and reputation of an established industry leader.

What You’ll Do

Learn the full lifecycle of a trade, including purchasing, sales, credit, logistics, and inventory
Work alongside experienced Traders on active deals and market opportunities
Prospect and build relationships with customers and suppliers
Develop expertise in commodity markets, pricing, sourcing, and negotiation
Create a business plan for building your own book of business
Transition into a 100% commission-based Trader role with uncapped earning potential

What You Bring

1–5 years of professional experience, ideally in sales, business development, account management, or another competitive environment
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Competitive drive, resilience, and comfort being measured by results
An entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take ownership
Motivation to pursue a performance-based career with significant earning potential
